POPPY

Major Arc is proud to support the feature film POPPY and thrilled to see POPPY star Libby Hunsdale’s recognition in the Attitude Awards. Libby is one of three finalists for the Attitude Youth Courage Award, an honour bestowed on young New Zealanders with disabilities for their outstanding determination and bravery. Her lead performance in Linda Niccol’s feature film POPPY is representative of the unwavering courage, confidence, and talent for which she is being celebrated.

Set in Kāpiti, POPPY follows a young woman with Down syndrome as she works towards her goals of learning to drive and becoming an apprentice motor mechanic. Poppy refuses to be defined by her differences, instead taking control of her independence to forge her own destiny within a story of young love and burnout competitions.

The producers plan for POPPY to hit New Zealand screens before the end of the year, principal photography having been completed in June. Visit their facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/poppy.loves.cars/ or read more about the Attitude Awards here: https://www.attitudeawards.org/2020-finalists
